These paintings are on stretched and prepared canvases,size, 11"x 14",mixed media on canvas;acrylic and oil paint,sand,string.They are informed by stories about women who have suffered trauma and their hope to survive.The titles of each painting are from the book by Kathleen Glasgow,girl in pieces and The Orphan Tale by Pam Jenoff.

Motherless Child


in the endless blanket of white



against the burning sky


in that second everything was alright


the air was now misty

moonlight shines down brightly

to make a river worthy of drowning in

to quiet the black outside


a hole that starts to burn inside

it rips your very being into pieces
